How old?
A few days ago, some actor turned 46. I had remembered seeing him in a movie and hadn't realized how close he was to my age. "Wow," I thought, "he's just 4 years from being half a century old!" And then I had to do the math with my age, and promptly swear off doing math forever.

really, i agree with heather. "math is hard!" (said in best talking-barbie voice.)
you only need to remember a few landmarks on your "to do at a certain age" list, and even most of these are flexible:
5: go to kindergarten
18: graduate from high school, register to vote
21: toss out fake id, drink legally
29: stop adding a year each birthday
65: collect social security
